Nationally recognized as a Blue Ribbon School, Mariners Christian School is a co-educational independent Christian school of over 700 students located in Costa Mesa, California. Established in 1987, the school’s mission is “building a firm foundation through Christ-centered education” in the heart and mind of each child. Each student’s development is nurtured in an academically rigorous and Christ-centered environment.

Parents at MCS have myriad opportunities to become involved in their child’s educational process, such as volunteering in the classroom, attending Parents in Prayer, or serving on a fundraising committee. Teachers, parents, and administrators partner closely together to ensure that each student achieves his or her greatest God-given potential. Mariners Christian School was awarded the Blue Ribbon status in 2007 and again in 2020.

Our History
Accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Mariners Christian School’s Costa Mesa campus has grown from a pioneering school of 44 students in 1987 into a thriving student body of over 700. In March of 1995, we moved from the original school facilities located on the grounds of Mariners Church to our new campus at 300 Fischer Avenue in Costa Mesa, which was accomplished through significant fundraising efforts and dedicated parental involvement. In October of 2020, our students moved into our completely renovated school campus.
In October of 2007, and again in 2020, Mariners Christian School was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School, the highest honor given by the United States Department of Education and an indicator of outstanding school achievement amongst peer schools. MCS qualified for this award because our students score in the top 10% of schools nationwide and for our provision of a climate for strong student performance in all areas.
Mariners Christian School’s Oceanside campus sits within the Mariners Church campus, though is not affiliated. It offers over 5 state-of-the-art classrooms featuring:
Fully-equipped TK, Kindergarten, and 1st grade classrooms

Flexible learning space to facilitate hands-on learning
Two beautiful outdoor spaces which includes a beautiful green space, trike path, outdoor play structure, expansive play area and covered lunch tables.

As a result, our student re-enrollment rate in Costa Mesa remains steady at over 95% each year.
